The northern sanxian is generally larger, at about 122 cm (48 in) in length, while southern versions of the instrument are usually about 95 cm (37 in) in length. It is made in several sizes for different purposes and in the early 20th century a four-stringed version, the jiaxian sanxian (加弦三弦), was developed. It has a long fretless fingerboard, and the body is traditionally made from snake skin stretched over a rounded rectangular resonator. Complimented by a comprehensive collection of warm and rich loops all recorded in the key of G.The sanxian ( Chinese: 三弦, literally "three strings") is a three-stringed traditional Chinese lute. The Xiao one shots have been split into short and long versions for you convenience. The Hulusi one shots are split into short and long versions for easy handling.Īnother Chinese flute, often made from bamboo. The Hulusi loops are full of silky smooth timbres, perfect to give a unique texture to your pack. The Dizi loops make use of the advanced techniques such as trills, circular breathing (to achieve continuous sound), fast-tonguing, popped notes and slides.
